Dear Colleagues - Members of the MFPRM,

I am delighted to communicate with you for our June letter and inform you on the following:

A. Our Society is increasing steadily in number of members from 22 countries, thanks to the efforts of the present Board.

B. I would like to remind you that the time for the 6th Mediterranean Congress of PRM in Portugal is approaching (Oct.18-21, 2006). Our Portuguese colleagues, who organize the congress in Vilamoura of Algarve, have promised for a unique and high standard organization for both the scientific and social events. You can take all the necessary information from the web site www.medcongress.prm06.org . As members of the Forum you have a special discount for the registration fees. Our Society organizes during the Congress two interactive sessions, which will give the opportunity to the Mediterranean colleagues to present what is happening in their country and to take back home useful ideas from what is happening in the rest Mediterranean countries. The two sessions are:

1. "Towards a harmonized development of Rehabilitation Services in the Mediterranean Countries, coordinated by Nicolas Christodoulou and Francisco Sampaio,

2. "Education and Research in the Mediterranean Countries", coordinated by Haim Ring and Jorge Lains. The 2008 (7th) Mediterranean Congress has been decided to be organized in Portorose of Slovenia from Sept. 18 to 21. During the General Assembly of MFPRM at the Congress in Portugal this year, we will decide for the organization of the 2010 Mediterranean Congress. You are invited to submit applications for the organization of that congress, according to the provisions of article 8 of our Statute. All members interested, please conduct me for further details.

C. The official journal of MFPRM: "EUROPA MEDICOPHYSICA" is as you know indexed since last year. I encourage all of you to be subscribers with the special provided low subscription fees for the MFPRM members. Also, to send your works for publication to the journal, according to the "notice to authors" and other information that you can find at the web site www.minervamedica.it

D. The Euro-Mediterranean Rehabilitation Summer School (EMRSS) will operate also this year from 20 - 24 November 2006 in Syracuse and will deal with the "Pain and Mobility". The national scientific societies will be asked to introduce young colleagues for participation to the School, among those who are members of the MFPRM. The chosen participants will have to pay only their flying tickets. Soon you will receive more information.

E. Next month you will be able to visit our new web site: www.mfprm.org , which was just set up. Thanks to our Secretary Gulseren Akyuz, we found a sponsor to cover all the costs of this job. Looking forward to meet you in Algarve,
